Frequently Asked Questions

If I don’t clean my solar panel, will it cost me money?

Yes, if not maintained panels can lose 15-20% efficiency. This loss of electricity means you will have to pay for electricity from PG&E, which will add years to your payback time and or a true-up bill.

How do I know that cleaning my panels will improve my system’s performance?

You can monitor changes in the power output of your solar panels before and after solar panel cleaning. Experiment with different time periods and take note to see what works.

How often should I clean my panels?

We recommend cleaning your solar panels quarterly, every 90 days for optimum efficiency.

Do I have to have a minimum or maximum number of panels?

No. We offer residential homes the same low, flat rate regardless of the number of panels.

Doesn’t rain clean the panels?

No. The rain may rinse off some of the surface dirt, but if they are really dirty, the rain can make it worse. Think about what the rain does to your car after it rains. Also, it does not rain much in Kern county, at least not hard and long enough to clean the solar panels.

How is your service different from if I just rinse them myself?

We use a four-stage filtration system called the Solar Beast. The Solar Beast, is a workhorse and changes hard water to its purest, deionized form which is needed to properly clean solar panels. Also, by hiring a professional you are removing personal risk. We are professionals using precise equipment that maximizes your solar system’s potential.

Is there any research to support solar cleaning?

Absolutely, there have been several studies which show that cleaning solar panels increases efficiency.

Will having my panels professionally cleaned save me money on my true-up bill?

Yes, “Clean Panels Work Better”.
